When I fly, I am often overwhelmed with feelings of privilege, not being able to help but contrast my euphoric act of swinging through the air grid-lock or sprawling cities beneath me. But as I soared over the start line, a physical 20 ft tall fence separating the US from Mexico, this feeling of privilege is intoxicating as I see clearly which side of the fence I am on and imagine my brothers and sisters to the south and how even grid-lock and sprawl might seem out of reach.
