Clean, abundant water is something that I have taken for granted my entire life. Only now coming to grips with this amid the dry, and thirsty landscape of southern Arizona, I am also watching my standards for acceptable sources for drinking and bathing taking a nose dive. Out here, the only sources I am able to find are holding tanks and troughs designed to keep cattle alive. To lower my bar to those of dehydrated cows is a humbling experience, but one that will no doubt benefit me as a pilot down the road.
