5200 m April 29th, 2020

It's never happened to me. I've never been so high. And because flying in Arizona has been so tricky, I'll take every meter of elevation I can get before going on glide, even if it means experiencing some early stages of hypoxia. Though far from the 8000 m "death zone" it is not recommended to spend any significant amount of time at elevations above 3500 m if not well aclimatized. This morning's launch was at about 1100 m, and I slept at about 800 m. My top outs above 5000 m were few but I was sure to burn it off on long glides in between.
