Drink and Die June 3rd, 2020

After landing half-way up Humphrey's Peak, AZ, I chose to hike to the summit because my map showed a lake 3/4 of the way up. Because it's so high, it is one of the only places in AZ that can offer skiing, and, to my great surprise, the lake I had found was full of anti-freeze treated water, re-claimed from last springs snow melt. Guarded with barb-wire and security cameras, they re-use the liquid-gold year after year as part of a massive, desert snow making operation. The inverse anti-freeze, I learned, helps the fake snow stay longer as it won't melt until some several degrees above zero. I think I'd rather die of dehydration.
