San Francisco Peaks May 29th, 2020

Imagine that you're flying over the flat, hot, dry desert, hoping you somehow land near an ice cream stand, and then BOOM, you're staring at a small collection of isolated, snow covered peaks towering more than 2500 m over the, dry, red earth below. Reaching the San Francisco Peaks north of Flagstaff not only meant that I would be able to re-launch without having to hike, but it also marked my most successful flat-land flight to date. I'll settle for a snow-cone instead :)
