Often hiking up mountains at night to save energy, some mornings I would awake to sights like this. "Where the hell am I?" I wondered. Switzerland? Austria? IDAHO!!!? Damn. Embarrassed as I am, I'll be the first to say that the only thing I underestimated more than their mashed potatoes was their epic terrain. Maybe it's the funny name, maybe all the spud jokes, just never in my life could I imagine my eyes, or what I would find on my journey north across this magical state.
