Not hiking, nor camping, nor flying are the make-or-break challenges of a vol-biv expedition. Only once en route does it sink in that, more than anything else, ones success or failure will be more definitely linked to their ability to sit on their ass and simply wait. And while this technique of slipping into the moment and riding time like a slide is something I've learned before, sitting on launch with three days of poor weather ahead, it something that I will have to learn again.
