TV Hill June 3rd, 2019

Standing tall behind the city of Flagstaff, AZ, the badly burnt Mt Elden is a constant reminder of how important it is to properly extinguish camp fires. Having landed atop the charred hill to escape the wrath of an approaching storm, it wasn’t until I whipped out my phone to figure out where I was that I discovered the significance of this unsightly bump. Not just one of the only high mountains in Northern Arizona, in 1975, early hang glider pilots begun using the communication tower access roads the launch, their primitive Regalo-style wings, from its steep slopes, laying the aerial ground work for dreamers to come.
