Originally, the Monarca Expedition had been routed largely to follow the Continental Divide, but for various reasons was shifted several 100 km west and remained west of it until this very moment. It was here, dead east of a town called Salmon, ID that I finally connected with the apex of our lands the formidable peaks that shape it.
