Change, like a band-aid waiting to be torn from my sensitive skin, seems terrifying on the horizon, then like the life of the party once it arrives. My stress levels had gone through the roof recently and I realized that it was due to my being concerned for the safety of my students. I realized that Fredrick and Alex, for reasons I won't get into here, were not taking the training as seriously as I felt they needed to and, with a heavy heart, called the meeting that would send them back home, leaving only Matthew to reach for the skies this year. And while I was first overcome by feelings of failure, Matthew and I have been making tremendous progress as a duo and my stress of seeing him take to the skies is but a memory. <3 B
Vol-Bivouac - Across the Bugaboos
Only in my wildest dreams ..a Vol-Biv (fly camp) connecting the mighty Slocan and Columbia Valleys.
Inspired by many great adventurers, pushing the boundaries of this niche sport, this was my first time going at it solo and I am still ecstatically grateful at the result.
Thank you for sharing this with me. <3 Ben
