Because Paragliders are not allowed to land or launch in within Banff's borders, I chose to make my pit stop just east of it in the Kootenay Plains Ecological Reserve. The area is unique in that it underwent a prescribed forest fire sometime in the last decade causing the geography to resemble something of a giant porcupine.
