Although I had hoped to reach the Robson Valley, some 80 km West of Jasper town, strong valley winds at the pass prompted an early landing at Yellowhead Lake, just east of the British Columbia / Alberta border. While at first I contended with a fair degree of disappointment, I soon realized that I had achieved my goal of becoming the first person to free-fly across Jasper National Park and subsequently, the first to soar from East to West across Canada's continental divide. My great fortune came in to vivid perspective.
