Obvious as it may seem, it only becomes clear to me just how vital water is to life during these grueling wilderness expeditions. While immersed in nature, I begin to grasp what a privilege it is to access such an abundance of clean, running water like we have here in Canada. Through the 52-day journey I was not once required to filter or purify the water I took from the countless streams I crossed.
