As I fly north, fires burning just west of me dump a sea of smoke over the Cariboo Mountains. A high pressure system forces the smoky air down into the Robson Valley, giving the illusion a heavy, running liquid the ghostly, contaminated air. Unfortunately, that same system is keeping me from climbing high and, as if I were in some sort of video game. One false move and I'll be down in that smoke as well!
