This expedition involved several flights which would put my piloting ability to the absolute test. As I gained elevation in my first thermal and caught fleeting glimpses of the 100+ km, head-wind laden route I was about to undertake I had to remind self that there was no landing in Banff National Park and that I would have to make up more than 70 km before reaching the Jasper Park border. Was I ready?
