In addition to being free of traffic, train tracks often have interesting bits of rail infrastructure to check out every few km's. My favourite were the giant barrels of industrial grease I would come upon. This photo taken only moments before a rail way maintenance truck came rushing down the tracks and asked me what the f**k I was doing.
