I wound up sliding on my bum 250 m down the snowpack until I reached some boulders. Because the wind is coming down the mountain, I'll have to run extra hard to get off. Though I'd never tested the Alpina's launching characteristics to this end, it handled it flawlessly.

Vol-Bivouac - Across the Bugaboos
Only in my wildest dreams ..a Vol-Biv (fly camp) connecting the mighty Slocan and Columbia Valleys.
Inspired by many great adventurers, pushing the boundaries of this niche sport, this was my first time going at it solo and I am still ecstatically grateful at the result.
