Until now, the Alps that I've been flying have featured ranges all reasonably close together, making for quick easy transitions. Throughout the X-Alps route there are many wider valley crossings, which means arriving low on the other side and getting caught up in the notoriously strong valley winds. Here I follow Krischa on a 10 km glide on his flight towards the Matterhorn turn point.

Vol-Bivouac - Across the Bugaboos
Only in my wildest dreams ..a Vol-Biv (fly camp) connecting the mighty Slocan and Columbia Valleys.
Inspired by many great adventurers, pushing the boundaries of this niche sport, this was my first time going at it solo and I am still ecstatically grateful at the result.
