Gettin' Married? Get 'er Done! April 22nd, 2015

Indians are blessed with an innate sense of efficiency and economy. At a wedding I recently crashed, I was blown away by no-nonsense serving and eating ritual orchestrated like a choreographed dance between the hosts and guests.

1. Everyone sits down in rows of approximately 20.
2. Plates are distributed then young men run down the rows doling out spoonfuls of deliciousness. If you've eaten enough, you put your hand over your plate and just sit there until everyone else has finished.
3. Once everyone is full a bell rings and 100 people stand up and walk away simultaneously making room for the next 100 to sit down and repeat this process.

Many of my friends are getting married as I type this and some may be concerned about the financial burdens of the ordeal. But if I ever tie a knot, you can all come, as, after everything I've learnt here, I see that costs and time constraints needn't place limits on this special occasion. <3 B
