Bombing out in Great Days June 3rd, 2020

Today was the day! High cloudbase, tail-wind, low chance of over-development. So what went wrong? As I transitioned from Mt Elden, above Flagstaff, AZ to the Peaks about 15 km north, I felt confident and chose a straight line towards the highest part of the mountain. What I failed to consider were both, the westward venturi of crosswind building up between the two mountains and that, when I arrived at Humphrey's that the base-terrain around it would be much higher, quickly turning my 2000 m of clearance into a 100 m, low-save type situation. Ultimately, I was forced to bomb out in a meadow halfway down the mountain. Do you ever bomb out on good days?
